About Hannah Roby
I have always loved music and have been drawn to the stage for as long as I can remember. When I was three, I received a karaoke machine as a gift and I would give spontaneous performances of Taylor Swift songs for anyone who would listen - which was usually my parents! This sparked my interest in music, but it wasn’t until I received a pink guitar from my Papa Jerry that my parents decided to sign me up guitar lessons. Those lessons lit a fire in me and I’ve been performing ever since as a singer, actress, and guitarist.
I’ve been on stage many times throughout my career, whether it was for musical theater, cabaret, dance, or as the lead singer and solo guitarist of my band. In addition to acting, singing, and playing guitar, I also write my own songs. My solo performances as a guitarist include notable venues like the House of Blues and the Hard Rock Cafe. I’ve also performed at the San Diego Kids Expo both as a guitarist soloist and with my band.
On the musical theater side of things, I began my career performing in Suessical the Musical with the Metropolitan Educational Theater when I was eight. I went on to perform in five more productions with them. More recently, I’ve been involved in the productions of Billy Elliot with the CYC Theatre, Bugsy Malone with the OB Playhouse and Theatre, and professional debut as Annie Who in How the Grinch Stole Christmas at the Old Globe Theatre.
